Students of GRV College of Nursing actively participated in the Pulse Polio Immunization Program, organized in collaboration with the Airport Health Organization at the International Airport, Bangalore, from December 21 to December 24, 2025. The program aimed to create awareness about poliomyelitis, administer polio drops, and emphasize the importance of vaccination in preventing the disease.
During the program, students engaged with the public by educating parents about polio, its prevention, and the benefits of immunization. They effectively communicated the importance of polio drops in protecting children from lifelong disabilities and addressed parental concerns by dispelling common myths related to vaccination.
The students administered polio drops to a significant number of children and encouraged parents to ensure completion of all recommended doses. Awareness talks, interactive sessions, and the distribution of IEC materials were conducted to sensitize the community and reinforce the global goal of polio eradication.
The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students, who gained valuable hands-on experience in public health outreach while contributing meaningfully to community welfare. Their efforts were appreciated by both hospital authorities and the public.
